Transcend The Doubt

No Regrets

Regret doesn't come from failing. It comes from funding a wrong fit with years of your life while waiting for a perfect moment that doesn't exist

One of my best friends is a doctor. These days I ask him the questions only someone who's seen it all can answer: what do people regret the most, in their final days

Life's Regrets

  • Built a life around what looked right, not what felt right

  • Mistook exhaustion for meaning — worked instead of actually living

  • Left the most important things unsaid

  • Let the people who mattered most get whatever time was left over

  • Postponed joy for a "someday" that never happened

  • Not taking enough risks or pursuing your potential

With that in mind, default to action. Treat failures as a necessary learning experience. Understand rejection is simply a market realignment. Express your feelings early, prioritize fun with the people you love, and let your best ideas see the light of day

"I wanted to project myself forward to age 80 and say, 'Okay, now I'm looking back on my life. I want to have minimized the number of regrets I have.' I knew that when I was 80 I was not going to regret having tried this" — Jeff Bezos's Regret Minimization Framework

"We used to look up at the sky and wonder at our place in the stars. Now we just look down and worry about our place in the dirt" — Cooper, Interstellar
